Tuesday's Visit August 14, 2012
Our little Audyia was sleeping so we only got to visit with Angel who was in the most giggly mood I have ever seen. We had not seen them in 5 days and I actually think she missed us. She gave me the biggest smile when they handed her to me. It;s the first time she has ever done that. Oh my heart!!!
This was our second visit with our little Hannah. I brought some cookies and snacks. she didn't want any of the healthy things just the cookies! Just like every other child I know...LOL! She will throw anything you get her with out any purpose. So we brought a ball and she of course just threw it to the side. I then took it and tossed it to Josiah and he tossed it back. After a couple of times I handed it to her and pointed to him and she began throwing it to him. She gave me a big smile when she did it but then almost immediately went back into her shell. She did continue to throw it to him for a while but didn't hold any kind of eye contact. I know though that she is in there.
I am also pretty certain that she is being sedated...with what I have no idea! They are very suspicious of us since they have never done an adoption form this institution so trying to get any info at this point is difficult. I am hoping with a little time they will open up to us some.
Please, please, continue to pray for a speedy court date as all of our paperwork will be filed today. Pray for the judge to have a soft heart and wave the 10 day wait. They don't usually do that here but I know that God can do anything and that would be 10 days less that she didn't have to stay in this place. Also, pray that she will feel safe with us when we take her and that she will just know she is going someplace good and not being moved to another horrible home. She spent her first 6 years in the baby house then they picked her up one day and took her here. I don't want her to feel fear when we take her. I am also concerned about her feeling overwhelmed and afraid as we travel in cars, planes, etc... I ask everyone to have your churches, friends, and family, cover this sweet child in prayer!
John and I have met so many wonderful people while staying here. Some are from here and are helping families adopt these children and some are here adopting. Please keep everyone here in your prayers for safety and peace. This is a hard road but so worth it in the end! Thank you!
You can see that there is so much in that girl. It will be wonderful to watch her learn and grow. I hope that you are able to keep blogging when you return to the states, because I would love to be able to follow along! Just don't give into the trolls.
ReplyDeletePraying each moment of the day! Can't wait for those babies to be Collins kids!
ReplyDeleteOh, I certainly agree that she is being sedated....BUT I SEE HER IN THERE!!!! I watched all of the videos and you all are doing AMAZING with her. Thanks for keeping us updated. I am enjoying your journey. You all are going to be such a blessing to her and I cannot wait to see her blossom.
ReplyDeleteShe is so precious and she is responding to us. I showed her more in sign language today and then gave her a bite of cookie. The next time I said say more, (with sign), and she did it consistently until I pulled out the camera...LOL!
DeleteYes,she does look sedated. I can see how slow her movements are and how she has what seems like a delayed reaction? It may be a shock to her when she comes out of it. What potential lies there!
ReplyDeleteI am worried about that as well. It will depend on what they have her on. I worry about taking her out of her comfort zone into cars, apartments, airports, ect... I couldn't sleep last night worrying about it. I asked the care giver today if she was on any medication and of course they said no. She is very junky and doesn't cough much which is another sign of sedation. I hate leaving her there.
DeleteBless her sweet heart! Agree about the sedations. The covering her eyes is so sad :( But she is still that precious girl. She is so beautiful and trying to come alive if only the medication would let her.
ReplyDeleteI saw several pictures of Hannah when she was still in the baby house. The pictures and the descriptions of the family who met her all indicate a friendly, highly interactive girl. That child is still in there. Agree that they have her on medication.
